We went on an AWESOME date last night. We decided to try this "dance hall and saloon" near where Jonathan is working and OMG it was awesome. I think the "name" is pretty dumb though - it was just an awesome bar with dancing and pool and lots of cheap alcohol. Mixed drinks and beer were only 1.25. Game of pool for 1$. Shots were about 3.50. XD The bartender that was closest to us (there were several small bar stations around the building) was awesome. At some point I just decided to try a bunch of different drinks, so I ended up getting all sorts of great stuff. I have 2 new favorite drinks, and the first shot I ever tried was awesome. XD Also, I kicked ass and took names at pool. Kinda. I beat Jonathan 2 out of 3, & handed Thomas his ass (1-0). I did get beat by this guy at the next table; the guys wanted me to try it. I could have beat him, I just couldn't get a decent shot to save my life. Jonathan and I did play one more game later in the night, but we were both so flipping drunk that it does not count. Jonathan did win it but it was *not* skill. XD

It was awesome.

And then we came back to the hotel (Charlotte was staying with his mom)... and didn't go to sleep for another 2 hours. XDXDXDXDXD

A few months ago, we were overjoyed to learn that Jonathan had received his release from his Reserve unit in order to go Active. He went to MEPS, etc etc, and got orders to reclass ait for October. Hooah. We were not too happy with the 5 month wait until the orders started, but it was a light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. (And a few days after that, he got the TDY orders to Houston, so the 5 months hardly mattered anyway.)
About a month after he got the active orders, we started to worry. The dates on his release papers would expire before the active orders began, and we were concerned that the release papers would have to be done again. That had been a big hassle (we waited for 3 months before they came through) and we were not excited about doing that again. Also we were concerned that the active orders would have to be re-done after new release papers came in, and that meant a possible long wait again. In other words, it could mess everything up.
But we found out a few days ago that the original release papers are fine and everything is on track for reclass in October and moving to a base right after that. !!

SO EXCITED.

(tl;dr - basically everything worked out fine and we are headed for base soon)

Before anyone asks - we don't know what base we will go to; he will find out in reclass. We have a list of bases we would like to go to, and a list of bases we don't want to go to, and a list of Hell No bases. But honestly, we don't know many bases that well, so if anyone out there has any suggestions for any of these lists, we are totally listening.
